Chocolate Stout Cake

"This recipe was created by Barrington Brewery in Great Barrington, Massachusetts, one of the countries first microbreweries, and it showcases Barrington's Black Bear Stout. The cake is made daily at the brewery by chef Odille Carpenter, and it is a whopper of a cake- a pint of stout, a pound of butter, a pound of flour, and nearly 2 pounds of sugar."

My Experience:

I love super chocolatey desserts and this one did not disappoint. The frosting that goes in between the layers and on the top and edges of the cake is all ganache frosting, yum! To start the cake you melt butter into a bunch of beer, which I had never pictured myself doing before. Then you combine the wet ingredients and then the dry and lastly, put it all together. This was a large cake, but it all got eaten. One of my neighbors even sent me a video of her son sneaking some off of the counter!
